(no subject)

[filtered away from children kidnapped or otherwise, Slenderman, and anyone exploiting the situation]

[two pages are highlighted: #, and then #; the priest's voice is quiet and gentle]

...The entries currently unearthed skip from 23 to 28 with nothing yet in between. The last known plan the previous victims of 'Slenderman' had were to offer up a human... sacrifice. The end result was the safe return of at least one child -- Deema. There's also-- this.

[he shifts, where he's staring at the blood-soaked tree whose line creeps higher and higher every time he blinks -- or maybe it's his imagination. his mind playing tricks on him, at this point, is not at all beyond the scope of the realistic]

Time is... running out.

[ooc: open for journal or the CREEPY BLOOD TREE if you're lurking]

[For the first time Elektra looks at him.] You'd come back faster than the others.

[It's more of a statement than a question but, her expression invites him to correct her.]

[She appreciates it after she outed herself for the sake of helping out the kids.]

... In that case, you should cross that bridge should we get there. I don't think we've gotten to that point yet or that we will.

[What she saw gave her confidence they'd intervene.]

[She walks over to Abel's side and rests a hand on his shoulder.]

... Before I came here, I had visions of Abby and her father being attacked more than once. I always arrived in time to protect them from what I saw. That's how I know we'll get them back alive. We're meant to intervene during that moment. All we have to do is make it there.

[She had a feeling it would and it is the truth. If she could save Abby against all those dangers by herself, an entire group of super powered adults could save kids from a spirit.]

Trust me, Abel. I'm not wrong about this.

[Whatever he can get away with it this once... or for the millionth time. You people are wearing her down.]

Yeah. [She laughs half heartedly.] Do you really think I'd still be talking to you if I saw anything different?

[She'd be busy trying to cut this tree down and generally freaking out.]

We really do. [She couldn't sound more sincere if she tried. This was one of the few times she truly wished to be home. She could just get them some plane tickets and go somewhere bright and sunny for a while.]

Ice cream on the beach would be really nice right now.

That's what I was thinking too. The kids should come with too even if they don't know how to swim.

I can teach them. [She's not even bothering to keep her guard and pretenses up at this point.]

Sandcastles too. [Elektra nods, smiling slightly... genuinely.] Yeah. I know what you mean. Time's gone by so slowly since they left.

[SHE'D LOVE TO. But that's later. ;;]

[She's too tired to pretend that she doesn't care when she obviously does...?]

You're welcome, Abel.

Practice makes perfect, right? [She sighs.] I just want you guys to be okay.

[She nods. Elektra couldn't turn off her strong front completely even if she wanted to.]

We should be strong for them. They're just kids.
