一 - Surprise Attack

Well, this is new.

[ And that's saying something, coming from Ragnarok. Though he's lived for quite a long while, suddenly finding himself in what he can sense definitely is not his world is something he can say has never happened before. ]

[ On top of that, he's in his human form. Which didn't make sense to him. The last time this happened was because his partner managed to get shanked and kidnapped by a little girl while he was left to burn with a whore house. All this seems to be is a strange hotel in a different world with— ]

Insane turkeys? I've had worse welcomes. But I was hoping for more of a break before you were kidnapped again, Leroy.

[ Ragnarok's words sound far away, as though said to himself. His nearby, so-far-unnoticed-by-him journal picks up on the possible sounds of a turkey or two being kicked as well. Animal cruelty? Maybe. Annoying? Very. Life-threatening? No. ]

[ There are sounds of a decidedly more lethal nature than kicking. ]

[ OOC: Open through journals or in-person at the lobby. Also backdated to sometime earlier in the day. ]

[fjdksl poor, poor leroy. LOL. but she'll just put on her proverbial flight attendant hat and give him the basics]

Right. Well, basically, this place is on a different planet than where you were before. Like if you were on Earth and then suddenly you were on the moon. All time here occurs within a fraction of a second at home, wherever you came from, so you don't have to worry about missing anything.

The theory that pretty much everyone agrees on is that this castle is "sentient", and it can react and change accordingly to different situations -- like adding more rooms when more people come in, so on and so forth. It also changes occasionally to mimic other worlds.

Once you arrive here, you have to pay a sort of -- toll, to get in. You won't remember paying it and it could be anything. A skill, a memory, an item ... so on and so forth. You can't get it back but on very rare occasions it will switch to something else.

You can't leave of your own free will. It's possible to leave, but the castle decides when you go. I've been here for years and we've never been able to find a voluntary exit.

[she'll pause there since that was quite a bit of info |D]

[ soooo much--but he'll glance at Ragnarok with a passive sort of expression because he's...pretty sure if anyone he'll be able to handle it. IF HE CAN HANDLE LEROY TEMPER-TANTRUM DEMON TIME, he can handle anything. ]
ino: (Looking back.)

That's right. It's extremely powerful.

... Nobody really knows why, exactly, it does it, but it does seem to have a sort of sense of humor ... and a sense of boredom. A lot of people just guess that it does the things it does because it's "bored". Some people also think it does this because it wants to ... "collect" people, in a way. There was an incident about a year ago where it tried to brainwash all of the residents into thinking they had always lived here and would live here forever. Obviously, we managed to stop it, but you have to wonder how many times it's been able to do that and succeed.

It is kind of strange, yeah. But unfortunately, the last thing this place is is fair. It can be pretty dangerous at times, all things considered. The turkeys are just a minor nuisance running around lately.

Don't forget the dumb wishes this place allows you to make.
ino: (Huh?)

[personal profile] ino 2010-11-27 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
That's about right. Once it gets bored of its new "toys", it'll send you back where you came from.

And you can wish up things -- small things. [she'll mutter something about wanting an apple, and one will appear in ehr hand out of thin air.] Like this. There are certain restrictions, though; you can't wish for a person or anything huge like a boat. Sometimes it's picky about letting you wish for weapons or money, too.

[LOL ragnaroksdjhfdksl she just blinks, she didn't hear what he said]

[ LMFAO THIS FACE. you cocker skjdghdsjgsk sob mutters back ]

You don't even know what you're talking about.
ino: (Cheerful.)

[personal profile] ino 2010-11-27 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. [she smiles] He's had a hard time finding a sword that could measure up to you.

[ sdkjfhskdghsjk INOOOOOOOO THAT'S A MAN SECRET DON'T TELL RAGNAROK THAT ]

[grins. HOW CUTE .... he's as easily embarrassed as Leroy! she'll have to keep THAT in mind for the future.]

"Cair Paradisa" is the name of the castle. The world itself is just "Paradisa".

Hmm ... let's see. There's also temporary "losses", similar to the permanent one I mentioned already, but obviously lasting less time. Usually a week. Usually it involves some part of your personality being altered, being turned into a little kid or animal, something along those lines.

Umm ... the journal [points to the one he was using to contact Leroy] is basically a way to communicate with all the other residents of the castle. You can also use it to filter to specific people, like me or Leroy, or to yourself, or even to groups of people ... for example, "People who like the color purple".

There are all kinds of people here, human or otherwise. Pretty much any occupation or species you could think of, there's probably one here. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts, angels, demons, fairies, elves, so on and so forth.

Also, anyone who's killed will come back in two weeks, so death isn't exactly permanent.

[sighs, tapping her cheek] ... Mm, let's see. The whole area is pretty much the castle and a small city nearby. There's a lot more further out, but most of it is outside a "barrier" which basically makes everyone on a regular "human" level. There's no food and hardly any water, which makes it difficult to travel and explore. There's a lot going on out there -- there's a convenient entry in the journal about it. Leroy tells me you like reading, so maybe you'll enjoy looking through it.

[ sob this is embarrassing...NO HOMO BRO )'8 well actually okay slightly a little but that's bromance the topic change is nice though, and a sudden thought occurs to him ]

--Hey, what's the last thing you remember doing back home?
ino: (Vaguely surprised.)

[personal profile] ino 2010-11-27 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
No problem. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask -- I've been here a long time.

[Lena? Who dat ... glances to Leroy]

[identity profile] imnotjenkins.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
[ how should he know ;; he looks just as confused ]

The hell is that? I don't remember helping out anyone named "Lena".
ino: (Vaguely surprised.)

[personal profile] ino 2010-11-27 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
[surprised blink at Ragnarok, before she looks back at Leroy]

... Maybe this has to do with your loss, then?

[identity profile] imnotjenkins.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah I remember that pain-in-the-ass... Maybe the kid too, but-- [ oh shit right--there's a blank spot where someone important is supposed to be. ]

There was someone that came to the hotel room one of those nights, right? [ you know, when he almost shot her at point-blank range ]
ino: (Flower.)

[personal profile] ino 2010-11-27 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Ino seems to get it when he says that. It was someone he wanted revenge on that he had forgotten, and he'd mentioned how much he hates people who kill for money ... just glances back and forth between them]

[ he looks troubled and a bit pensive, but Leroy will try to frown and shrug it off until later--when he can speak with Ragnarok alone. ]

Tch. Why the hell would I ever help someone like that? [ which is muttered mostly to himself, and sourly >: ]
