Um...does anyone have any idea what happened? I know that was a loss, but...those things we remembered. D-did that...really happen, somewhere?

U-um, I'm...very sorry for my behaviour over the past few days. It seems like I was on a very strange loss, and...well, that's no excuse, of course. But if there's anything I can do to make up for it, please.

That thought does not bring me much satisfaction.

Mm. [ Not much she can do to fix that, then. They'll have reached the Wildkat by now, Yukiko pausing outside of the door and forcing a smile. ] A-anyway...here we are. Did you want anything in particular? I'll pay this time.

I -- [She's about to object to Yukiko paying for her, before she realises she's not certain of procedures here in this world, so to save herself from embarrassment, she stays silent on that front.]

What would you recommend?

That depends on your tastes, really. I know the mocha is a good start, if you're not used to stronger coffees, but the people inside are very knowledgeable. You can always just ask them.

Right. Well, I haven't really been a heavy consumer of caffeinated beverages in the past ... [She trails off there, instead deciding the best and most logical course of action is to open the door and enter!]

[ Oh, Mitsuru. This is not ramen ettiquette! She opens the door and ushers her in. c: ]

Better to start with that, then- some of the others can be very bitter if you're not used to it.

Right. I'll go with that, then.

[But for now she's going to hang back and observe how Yukiko goes about things.]

[ Sure hope Mitsuru isn't expecting anything serious, because after a year? She's moving about as if it's all perfectly normal. A bit of pleasant conversation is made with the barista before Yukiko returns. ]

It'll be just a minute. Shall we sit?

[Nah, Mitsuru's just going to watch for now, taking mental notes and watching how Yukiko goes about things.]

All right.

[ She nods, and takes her seat in one of those big, plush armchairs, giving a contented sigh. ]

[And Mitsuru goes to sit down as well, remaining silent for now and just taking in the surrounds.]

[ Alright, conversation...let's do that thing! ]

I find the resident-run stores to have much better atmosphere than the regular ones in town. Maybe it's because of the lack of apathy- everyone's here because they want to be.

I can't imagine running a business without at least having some interest in doing so.

Well, that's true...but in a place where nobody ever needs to worry about money or being provided for, since the castle gives us everything? It just proves that only people who really want to work there are working.

It makes for a much more cheerful business.

Mm. But no matter how much one enjoys it, business can become rather tiresome on occasion.

It really can...I think that's why so many fail here, too. There's no financial incentive to keep going, either. But I'd like to think I'm dedicated enough to keep pushing on.

Oh, do you run a business here as well?

I do. It's the Okami beauty salon, on the ground floor of Ira Tower.

You should stop by sometime!

A beauty salon?

The only one in Cair Paradisa, and much better than any you'll find in the City Royale.

... And what do you do there?

Everything, really. Officially-- [ Oh hi, the coffees are being served to them. Yukiko halts to give a smile to the barista. ] Thank you. As I was saying, officially I'm the owner/manager, but I also do any of the beauty treatments which may be required, manage everyone's schedules...that sort of thing.

[Mitsuru acknowledges the barista with a thanks as well, before turning back to Yukiko.]

... What sort of treatments?

Oh, just the standard ones. [ Sip! ] We do hairstyling and dying, facials, massage, manicures and pedicures...and sell beauty products themselves, of course.

And you have many customers?
