[said out loud, quite suddenly.] You know, Anna, they go round and round trying to solve the mystery of the castle - just because they can, I suppose, or because they have nothing better to do - and they still haven't figured out how to leave. Spinning their little wheels like a pile-up on the Shuto Expressway. It's fascinating how well this game was put together. It's using their instincts against each other; the ones who stay the longest tend to be the most human. The gods must be crazy, as they say, but brilliance is one step away from insanity, right?
If I were a one-way ticket kind of guy, I think this is how I'd do it. And that is a compliment, really.
... Hm? [... a laugh] Well. I did say they tended to be, right? Being inclusive wouldn't be exactly fair. And I am an honest man.

As for why he's without clothes, perhaps the passengers aboard decided to throw everything, including clothes overboard to lighten the load but it wasn't enough in which they drew sticks to see who would have to jump.
