[all is calm in "Wyndhym."

the streets have been cleaned of the corpses... buildings are in various states of repair... and Griffith's apostle army has been benevolent in their efforts - there has been no additional bloodshed since their arrival two days prior. could Paradisa truly have gotten the savior it deserved...?

it's time to test what he's made of.

dusk approaches... and for the second night in a row, it starts out seeming as though the endless attacks might not be so endless after all...

...but then...

history so enjoys repeating itself.

there is the distant bellowing of inhuman things that announces them, first... then the rampage of hundreds of feet and hooves and claws and talons coming closer starts off in the horizon...

there are hydra pouring in from the forest, harpy from the sky. Ogres rise up from the fields. dragons circle the sky, before perching on tower rooftops... trolls clamoring in from everywhere. evil spirits are congregating, accompanying bigger foes from swells of darkness.

monsters are coming.

apostles are coming.

...and they aren't alone...

meanwhile, Griffith remains in the throne room of the castle; the front gates are guarded by Locus, Rakshas, and Grunberd, stoic and speechless as they wait for the attackers to reach the castle...]

[ooc: PART 1/2. Please wait for subthreads! GO WILD. Tonight, most of the action will be in town! Demon characters have not yet experienced a change to the feelings of calm and tranquility Griffith is radiating. The "Band of the Hawk," Griffith's army, will be guarding the castle and preventing monsters from entering the gates, but they won't be making any moves to assist the townspeople at all.

[the castle gates are being held down by the "Band of the Hawk" - aka, all those "friendly" apostles who are showing absolutely no interest in helping the townspeople. they don't have orders to help the humans...

so why should they?

they're killing anything that gets in range of the castle. you're free to join them...]

Spike spent the last two days reclusive, staying away from as many of them as he could -- mostly recovering and stocking back up on bullets. When the attacks start, he can almost sense it, and sure enough his brand starts bleeding again.

The closer he gets to the castle gates, the more he can feel it. It's not a smart move considering how quickly he got overwhelmed the first two times, but he's never been one to hide from a threat. He's got a lot of debt to pay off for the gift they gave him.]
