[There is a map of Europe drawn out, obviously copied carefully from a book. It is properly labeled with the names of countries. Underneath the year "A.D. 20XX" is written, since Alessandro could not find an exact date for the creation of the map. Next to it is a rough map of the same area, but with different country lines, and different names. Underneath it is labeled as "A.D. 3060". Below both images is a merged one; the first map drawn out carefully with the second map superimposed using light colours so the regions of the other can be seen through it.
Below the maps are a few simple sentence written out just as carefully.]
What does your world look like? What kind of countries are there? What are their names?

Following the second world war, the single nation known as Germany split into what became colloquially known as East and West Germany. The East is an ally of the USSR, while the West is more inclined toward the USA. In general, the world could essentially be divided into where it stood on either side of the USA-USSR conflict, until... well, very recently. Suffice it to say that when I left, the two superpowers and their allies were at last making progress toward harmony.

This is Aselia, which once consisted of the two worlds Sylvarant and Tethe'alla. Though they're not proper nations, I suppose that would be the closest we have. Tethe'alla had prospered, so it is the one with better infrastructure; Sylvarant is more a collection of city-states without a centralized government.

Mostly like that. Right now, anyway. I recognise some places in the second map, but that's going back a long while.

Wait, it's... it's in America isn't it? The place in the middle of the ocean?
