Who: Jordaniel Gyre (READ: The Editor) and any other pups who want to pop on by, including all you suddenly youthful whippersnappers, you.
What: Chillin'. And discussing the weirdness.
When: Uh, now? Daylight? Middle of the day. Beautiful clear weather, sometime after whenever your pup has suddenly turned into a kid, if you're one of that crew.
Where: The roof, somewhere sunny that gets a nice view of the town.
Rating: PG-13, likely, maybe R if they start with the cussin'. Kids these days, rly.

[Yawning, and the sounds of someone dragging themselves out of bed. Argh, college hours, really, who wants to wake up before noon at the *earliest?*]

Mm. Wha...Oh. Right. Seminar. Conference. Thing. Okay. [Pause] Is that wardrobe natural wood? Oh, come on, no way, not for students...wake up, wake up, wake up.

[Clattering about, putting on clothes (wardrobe's got something appropriate for deaged future people, apparently), and otherwise getting ready for the day.]

Stylus, stylus, where'd they put my styl--

Why, hello, there, aren't you retro. [Pages rifle as he flips through the journal] Holy L.O., are they going to make us write? That is so academics. They're going to make us write. Moldy old flabbermouths.

[Cacophony streams through the journal. The sounds of running feet, screaming voices—people begging, protesting, questioning, yelling out names and curses, oaths and prayers—and, above it all, harsh mechanical voices repeating one word, over and over and over:]

"EX-TER-MI-NATE! EX-TER-MI-NATE!"

((If you choose to investigate, you'll see some variation of this. You can experience it as an outside explorer, in which case, you'll likely spy the Editor somewhere in the riot, eventually. Chances are, he'll be focused on one of the appearances of those three people in the crowd—either trying to get to them, ignoring them pointedly, watching detachedly, or running in the other direction. He tries all these approaches, over the course of the dream—and, it being a dream, he may be trying them *all at once.* Impossible? Yeah, but what the hey. It's a dream.

You can also experience it as a participant, in which case, augh. RUN, here be Daleks! And the three people in the crowd will be replaced by someone(s) who really mattered in your past—people who you owe something to or have a strong bond with, but who you, perhaps, do not like. Or who you care for despite not wanting to. People you resent.))

Power. Within the transplanted community here, who do you feel has the most power and who do you feel holds the most power? There's a distinction. Some people have power but never exercise it. So. To have or to hold. Your potentials and your politicians. Who are they?

One caveat—you can't nominate yourself. Even if you seriously believe, yes, you are Power Incarnate, Destroyer of Worlds, Evader of Taxes, blahblahblahetcetera, pick someone else. The second most powered/powerful. Stretch a little.

[Sound of someone collapsing to the floor, hard, followed by long moments of gasping for breath. Sounds like someone's a) fallen over after running the marathon, b) flopped out of a large tank of water, where they were drowning, or c) just gotten yanked out of their universe after being killed by Daleks. Three guesses which!]

What? I'm not--this isn't--

[Another deep breath--control, man, control!]

[Louder, but shaky] If someone's playing games, I am NOT amused. This day--has just--

I resign! Do you hear me, I RESIGN! No two weeks notice, I don't need pay, bloodybloodybloodybloody day...

[Quieter, as though speaking to self] It's cold.

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
