[Filtered away from people from his own world]

[After a few false starts, have some nervous pen tapping]

Okay. So people are from different time-lines here, yeah? I mean, just because you're from the same world doesn't mean that you're from the same time. Right? Right.

Here's a hypothetical question. Say some of the people from your world are from your future. Would you, hypothetically, ask them about what your future held? Even if you know there's a good chance it's going to be something pretty crappy? Especially if the first hypothetical thing you've learned is something world-shatteringly terrible?

So... Um, yeah. Would you? Ask them, I mean.

...Hypothetically.

...Well, I wanted to know, and the first thing anyone told me led to me having to seek professional help.

I would.

...hypothetically.

Yes.

I left at a very...inappropriate time.

I don't know if I'd ask again. I'm still--not really sure I can deal with it, and it's been a few months.

From someone who didn't ask but was told, you might be better off not knowing. Just some friendly advice.

[considers this for a moment]

Well, in my case -- there's about three years from my point and his point. Which is a little insane, but it's a lot of time to make up, and I, personally, don't like losing it. I know that I'm not dead, and I know that I'm going to have to go home and live it anyway so --

Yeah. I guess if I was curious enough I'd ask. What it is might not be the easiest thing in the world to hear, but -- if you're going to have to live through it anyway at some point -- you might as well.

What's the point? Especially if it's something crappy? ...You're not one of those self-torture types, are you?

Ideally, I would say no, I wouldn't, but realistically, it's another story.

No. I don't think so.

[identity profile] sigma-hime.livejournal.com 2009-05-04 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, same here.

[written in small, mostly-neat sprawl since Sei's writing blind here]

That would depend on what kind of information it was about myself, and how important it was.

Smart man. I'd recommend avoiding this ridiculous asking about your future thing.

I heard some things about people going home and then coming back again, and still remembering everything. But no one knows when those are going to happen. So -- I just figure it couldn't hurt. It's not like you're going to remember it when you leave anyway.
