A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR

[LOUD, OBNOXIOUS SNIFFLE]

Today... today is a sad day. The train is coming! It’s going to a far-off castle, where you are all being invited to live. But no! No! Don’t feel as though you have to go! [sniffle] You are welcome to stay here and live in our peaceful town forever, or as long as you wish.

But should you choose to leave us, [sniffle] please remember us fondly and listen to an old tortoise’s advice:

It’s a big, big world out there! You all have brains and feet and I know that you’ll use them to go many wonderful places and enjoy yourselves. Over the week I have gotten to know many of you as charming, lovely people and excellent citizens of this town, and I know that you will all make the right choices. You’ll all make friends. Never wait to find what makes you happy. Never wait; seize the carp! I mean, oh ho ho, seize the day! Oh ho... silly me...

I know that each and every one of you will reach great heights... sometimes there might be problems, maybe you’ll be held back, but I know all of you are capable of getting out of that slump and getting back up and keep going. If you find yourself in a tough spot, remember: “Tortimer has my shell, no matter where I am! Tortimer believes in me, and Tortimer gave me this smart advice! So I won’t give up!”

Keep these memories with you and hold them close in your heart! I know that I’ll remember all of you –– you, and you, and you! –– because every one of you has warmed this old tortoise’s heart. Thank you for the memories.

Just... [sniffle] remember to write! Or come back and visit us, in Paradisa Town! You’ll always have a home here with us.

Funnily, I found this village rather relaxing, a bit of a vacation from a vacation.

This place was really fun. Sort of reminded me of the Digital World. Especially the animal people. Okay, so there wasn't that much to do around here. But it wasn't bad!

I've almost been too busy to write in this thing. For the past couple of days, I've been running errands for people and trying to build a place that's at least somewhat comfortable... I never knew how much I'd miss having a bed.

I hope the flowers at the castle are growing better than the ones I tried planting here. [a little laugh] I miss my stuff too much to stay behind. And I wonder what Guy's up to...

I guess... it was nice to live simply for a while, but I couldn't do this longer than a week. I'm not cut out for it. I'd rather train or explore, and this place is tiny, really.

Oh dear, I've finally located my journal. I am not at all pleased with myself, I am normally much more organized then this. I promise not to do this again.

Oh my, such an interesting week this has been. This town had such quaint charm to it, it's almost a pity to leave it. Who else will be on the train?

Naruto-kun? Are you fairing well?

Hamlet-san? Are you around? I would like some tea with you when you have free time.

Shikamaru-kun, I found a very interesting game for you. Are you going back to the castle or are you staying here?

First thing I'm doing is drinking my weight in alcohol. After wasting my special day here, I can't even imagine trying to last another day.

I don't know what's happened before I came, but while I've been here I think this might have been the singularly most evil creation this place has managed to create.

Nope, definitely not going to miss this place.

Wahhhh~! That place was so much fun! Everyone there was so nice! We got to catch fish and had a cute little house, and got to have like a field day! It was like going to an amusement park but it was an overnight stay vacation! I'm going to miss it...

Did a lot of people stay back? No offense to the animal people or anything, but I'd rather be back in the castle. Even if it is sadistic and evil.

Also -- ROLE CALL. Anybody I know, you better speak up, or I'll just have to call you out personally later! It's pretty freaking hard to keep track of everybody when there's no castle and no nameplates and it's been a while since I've heard from most of you anyway.
