It was really hard for Rookie not to enjoy whatever this was, magic or no magic, and that tug was met with very little resistance as he pressed into that kiss with a soft, low growl. An action that had a sort of underlying tenderness to it, which may or may not have been intentional, given that Rook still had no idea what part of this was magic and what part of this was just him.

But in the end he did smirk. One that lingered there for far longer than it probably should have, before he grew slightly more adventurous. Having been able to almost sense that challenge hiding in there somewhere, and for that very reason causing him to want to respond back with more energy. Even if there were still some very faint signs that he was subconsciously holding himself back, but in the subtle way he went about carefully sliding both his hands down her back before he was attempting to lift her up.

And then he was heading for his room since, tempting as it may have been to stay out here in the open, Rookie felt it was probably better to go ahead and shift this to someplace more private.
