York looked away and to the side. Well, he knew even if he tried he was no kind of replacement for another Spartan, but he;d hoped being able to live a peaceful life would have meant something to her. Then again, he knew damn well how this place could get to you if you let it.

"Two and a half years for me," he admitted quietly. "I wouldn't call it the worst, but--sometimes it is hard to see the hot springs and the kids and being able to watch the seasons go by. I try to look at what we have, and no what we don't, but--it's hard."
