Thread: Waking up [Ravi and Kanda]
Who: Ravi (
bookmansjunior) and Kanda (
to_dark)
What: Waking up.
When: The next day after the big fight?
Where: Ravi's room 211
Rating: PG-13 for language.
This was not Monday though, was it? Point being... what day of the week was it? He groaned a little and lifted a hand to his head. His body was screaming murder at him again but he found himself in the rather comfortable, familiar, Paradisa beds. Except this was not his room. Agitation hit him before Kanda forced himself to remember that sudden movements were bad, bad ideas when it hurt so much.
Instead he squinted, the ceiling coming into focus.

Everything looked exactly the same as he'd left it. He hadn't taken that many things to Allen's room with him anyway.
"Sleeping Beauty" was placed down on the bed and covered up with the blanket there and then Ravi grabbed a chair, letting himself fall into it. He sat back, watching Kanda for a while. Allen had said something about a doctor, right? It'd be worth looking into finding one around here.
... 'Later' could probably wait a little while longer. Leaning forward, closer to the bed, Ravi rested his arms on the edge of the mattress and his head on his arms. It was an awkward position to fall asleep in, but by now he was tired enough for it not to make any difference.
In fact, he was tired enough to stay like that for the rest of the night.

The blood was dry, it had stopped.
Kanda yawned slightly, then he looked to the side. Red hair.
That idiot.
Lowering one hand he placed it on Ravi's shoulder trying to shove him off the side of the bed.

Gradually more awake, Ravi sat up fully. The awkward sleeping position had taken its toll and he had to stretch and crack his back before he stopped feeling as stiff, but he grinned at Kanda. "Morning." At least, he was going to assume it was morning now. "How're you feeling? Sorry there's no breakfast in bed."
If Kanda could move enough to try to shove him off before (good thing it had been that and not Mugen), he had to be better than he'd been last night.
no subject
Yeah, he supposed physically he was better.
But...

Ravi leaned back in his chair and smiled. "Well, you're looking better, Yuu." Sort of, at least compared to a few hours ago. "Maybe you still heal faster than the average person."
no subject
Ignoring the pain on his chest, he rolled to his side, giving his back to the bookman junior- almost like a sulking kid.
No, that had not been the right thing to remind Kanda of.
no subject
It'd be an opportunity to move Mugen, too. Just in case.
Ravi reached out with one of his hands and touched Kanda's back, trying to see whether there was any blood there.
no subject
He flinched a little when Ravi touched his back, but that was more or less clean.
Kanda shifted to look- er- glare at Ravi.
Well... yes, but he needed help. One hand went to undo the belt that held Mugen around his waist first.
no subject
Ravi gave Kanda a grin for that glare, but pulled his hand away and settled for watching as the other boy got started on following his suggestion. Or so it looked. Ravi knew better than to offer Kanda a hand with what he was doing right now, but if it turned out that it was going to be needed, he was ready to snatch away Mugen first and then do the hand offering after all.
no subject
Disgusting.
Oh god, no, he was not going to voice that he needed help, instead when he was finished with his coat, he stopped and glared some more at Ravi, almost expectantly as if to say, 'Well?'
no subject
"Your coat's too long, Yuu," Ravi remarked as his other hand moved to said coat to peel it off and free Kanda's arms and torso. The bandages underneath really looked like they could use changing. Where to get fresh ones, though?
no subject
His fingers came to grasp Ravi's arm in an attempt to lift himself slightly.
no subject
But with those words, Ravi made his way over to the closet to find some clean clothes. They'd have to do for makeshift bandages for now, until real ones were found somewhere around here.
no subject
He propped his eyes open when Ravi made his way to the closet, staring at his back.
no subject
Before long, he was back with a wet towel. "You wanna do this yourself, Yuu?" he asked, sitting down on the edge of the bed.
no subject
No.
He was tired.
no subject
With the bandages gone, Ravi could take a look at what the damage underneath was actually like. The dried blood caked on Kanda's skin wasn't helping much, though. He made a face and leaned closer, picking up the towel.
no subject
Clenching his jaw, Kanda decided that now the ceiling made a good staring point.
He kept his breathing even, it was not as bad as it had been before. It was mostly small bruises and cuts around a large... hole in which the skin was raw and half-healed and torn where he had pulled it open again.
Not pretty.
no subject
"Nice," he remarked instead, studying the nasty-looking wound that was staring up at him. Pretty creepy, thinking that Tyki had shoved his hand in there. It was probably a good idea to leave that alone and try to clean around it. Getting started on tackling that task, Ravi ran the towel over Kanda's skin, wiping at the dried blood crusted on it.
Part of him was surprised - Kanda had to be pretty tired, if he was resigning himself to his fate and letting all this go ahead, when he'd been so set on refusing help before.
no subject
Kanda was genuinely tired too, in more ways than one so that was why he was letting Ravi do this instead of fighting him every inch of the way. It would have been a losing battle. At least it wouldn't smell of blood anymore.

The shirts' fabric didn't seem that thick, so tearing them into strips wasn't that hard. "This'll have to do till we figure out where you got those handy real bandages from, Yuu," Ravi said as he began the Great Undershirt Massacre.
The makeshift bandage strips ended up a little on the messy and uneven side, but there was a good pile of them sitting in front of Ravi after a while. He smiled at Kanda and moved closer to finish the job. As long as the strips went on right and Kanda didn't get any ideas along the lines of getting up and moving around a lot anytime soon, they were probably going to stay in place until they could be replaced.
no subject
No struggle, only the slight tension as Kanda clenched his fist on Ravi's sleeve, trying to balance himself as best as he could so the other could finish the job.
no subject
Ravi sat back to look at the other boy once he'd finished securing all the strips he needed into place. "You want anything?" he asked. If Kanda didn't and just wanted to get some rest here (or realized that it was the smart thing to do now), then a search for real bandages and paying Allen a visit to pick up his hammer sounded like a good plan, Ravi decided - maybe a shower and a change of clothes, too.
no subject
Not really, unless the redhead could summon back his dignity and his tattoo with one of his idiotic smiles.
Maybe now was a good time for a nap. Wherever the hell he was... he kind of hoped he could get out of here soon. It was hard enough that those idiots had come after him.
It really...
Kanda had no words right now.
no subject
"Knock it off, Yuu," Ravi suddenly said, standing up. "Did you think we were gonna leave you out there or nobody was gonna come out there in the first place? It's not a big deal."
no subject
So, the swordsman did just that though he did open his eyes, a little surprised at Ravi's words before he looked down passively again and closed them again.
"I'm tired." he muttered and that was that.
no subject
... It was scary? Maybe that was it. A little like Kanda wasn't actually there or wasn't Kanda. And Ravi wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. He didn't know a Kanda that acted like this. He'd been prepared for anger from him and it had started out that way earlier on, right?
But if the guy was seriously that tired, there was only one way to fix that.
Ravi covered Kanda back up with the blanket.
no subject
So, he went back to ignoring the other and laying in bed with his eyes close. There was nothing more to be said after admitting to being tired. All that humiliation, what more could such a little admission make, right?
