Thread - Byakuya and River
Who: Byakuya and River
What: River stumbles upon Byakuya practicing and decides to investigate. :P
When: At some point after River can't contain her curiosity and finally leaves her room.
Where: The courtyard of Cair Paradisa
Rating: I'd assume G? Probably?
Sleeping was problematic, a problem that didn't seem to be rectifying itself quickly enough for River Tam to wait out the storm. There was far too much to see and far too much that she didn't want to see, things that would come only when she closed her eyes. The mass of a place that didn't want her seeing was a weight that she didn't dare to carry. There were none that could prove themselves able to carry it alongside her, and none who could take away a burden that could not freely be given.
Blades of grass and pathways of stone were cool beneath River's bare feet as she picked her way carefully along a path not written in pragmatic reality, a path not cut of stone or worn in dirt. The path was clouded, dark, and she had to walk it carefully. There were already so many obstacles and inconsistencies to be avoided, after all.
With her arms stretched out to the sides as far as they could reach, her feet fell softly, making hardly a sound as she explored the depths of this place, the corners that beckoned. She didn't blame the grass or the trees, yet they had to be ignored. It was hardly their fault that they lived atop the breast of a beast, after all.
