I was reminded not too long ago [read: Halloween] that I promised someone [read: Mindy] a John Wayne movie marathon. I fully intend to follow through sometime this month, but I was wondering if there was anyone else who might be interested?

I know that some people don't know who John Wayne is, or ... possibly even what movies are, so it could even be considered a cultural event. You can see a piece of something from our worlds that you wouldn't normally see in yours. Granted, these are old western films, so they don't necessarily have the best track record in terms of realism -- that wasn't really what they were for -- or ... matters of race and gender, but they're still rather enjoyable in their own right.

My point being, I thought it would be a good community building exercise. I'll even bring popcorn.

Yes. I - used to watch westerns with my father as a child. I always preferred those with John Wayne.

There is a movie theater in the castle -- it only appears on certain nights of the week, but the walls are lined with films. I'm eighty-five percent sure I should be able to find them there.
