Well, I'd call that a colossal backfire. Turns out Wesley's a little more ruthless than I thought. Who knew he had it in him, that sap. I need to figure out how he figured out about Lilah. Something must have triggered the compulsion to override it. No better way of wasting my time here than to figure out how. Not that it matters -- however he did it, it's annoying.

Guess this means she's off-tap. And considering I'm not sure I trust taking a bite out of the townspeople or anything wished into existence by this place, I'm thinking it's time to find a new source.

And I hate him for that. I physically hate him. I had everything ready to do the same to you but Alaric [ along with several others ] reminded me that would make me no better than he is.

No. It's not. He thinks I'm dead. He'll find a way around the compulsion eventually, and when he does, he'll come after all of us. In force. He got through Lilah's.

Then we find out who broke the compulsion. We deal with them.

The only way to break a compulsion is to kill the vampire who did the compelling - or in Katherine's case, until the compulsion runs its' course. Could it have been a more powerful vampire?

Could be. We don't know what Angel's capable of. The way Lilah talks about him, he's some bigshot with a soul. Might have something to do with it. I'm going to see if our little witch has heard of any other ways to break it. Bet your ass that if anyone has, it's a Bennett witch.

I spoke to Angel. He didn't seem to be concerned with anything. ...I don't think we're without souls. What makes him so special?

Damon, why did you frame him in the first place?

[ Damon has a lot of feelings on that. After all, if he really didn't have a soul, it'd be a lot easier to explain why it's so hard for him to act like a human fucking being. He likes to pretend he's just a soulless monster. It's easier. ]

I don't like him. Anyway, vampires from their world don't usually have them -- souls. That's the gist of it, according to Lilah. For what that's worth.

So their soul would be the equivalent to our ability to turn off our emotions? [ That would make him feel better about the soul situation. ] And you have a soul, Damon. Also, I think we can put Lilah in the column of people we don't trust. She helped Wes.

If you want to worry about the state of your immortal soul, Stefan, that's your problem. Me? I don't care. You can add it to the long list of things I don't care about that make you brood. You can figure out our equivalent all on your own. I'm sure Rose and Lexi would love to chat about it.

And Lilah had no reason to be lying at the time, I had her compelled to talk. Now, obviously, getting that information is going to be a little tougher.

I don't like Rose. And leave Lexi out of it. You staked Lexi, so I don't understand why your hostility is directed at her. And, please. You feel. You experience guilty. You have a soul. You may not care or acknowledge it but you do.

[ Stefan is friends with Willow and Buffy! Not that he knows either of them have an Angel connection. ]
