[Dictated over the journal (though anyone in the Lux will also hear her saying it):]

Anyone that's been wondering when the Lux is gonna open back up, I have an answer for you. Today! Today it's back to... sort of what it was before.

The castle must've finished the repairs while we were all on board those ships. The graffiti though, from while we were gone, we cleaned that by hand and fixed the rest of the minor things that had been done by whoever was messing the castle up.

[She shakes her head, making a soft sound] Sorry, I'm sure most of you don't care how it got fixed, as long as it's fixed.

One thing, at least for the time being, is that I don't have a cook. I can do most the easy stuff, but for today I'm actually going to call a "Grilling Only" rule. If the calendar I keep is right - it's the Fourth and no one in their right mind actually cooks on a stove today.

As long as I can stick it on the grill, you can order it.

[there's the sound of light tapping, the tip of her ring finger hitting the surface of the bartop]

Oh! Before I forget, is there anyone in the castle that knows a lot about art, has some free time, needs a job, and can easily get to the city?

[a smirk] Works for me. I don't suppose there'll be a meet and greet once you've made your decision?

Do you know Nora? She's an artist here in the castle.

Afraid I haven't, but she sounds lovely already.

Well, I'll see if I can get in touch with her and if she is interested, then we'll get the two of you introduced.

For now, if you want to come in tomorrow? I close at the Lux tomorrow, so I'll be at the gallery in the morning.

Roger that. You're quite the busy bee, aren't you?

[she smiles]

A bit, but that's what happens when people go home. It's actually keeping my mind off of a lot of other things, so I think it's good.

But still, running a restaurant and a studio at the same time? Not a lot of people have your initiative.

Well, I wasn't running the studio until recently and it actually timed perfectly with the bar getting destroyed. So I only had to focus on one at a time, but now they're both open.

It's... it's not too bad. The gallery has light hours and I'm one of those people that can get along with very little sleep.

[Would you be interested in doing a log to get Nora and Joshua to meet? I can put it up, if you're both interested. I haven't heard from Nora writer yet.]

Without a single drop of coffee? Lucky you.

Oh, there's coffee. Not a lot of it, but enough to make sure I don't collapse in between projects.

[she laughs, shaking her head]

No, I'm just the type that needs something to do.

So, any reason why you haven't picked a job in the castle before? I mean, you don't seem the type to be new to this place.

[laugh] I'm not the working type, really. Never will be. But hey, this is better than rotting in some office job from nine to five, mm? And I'm always out to try something new.

[bursts out laughing.] My goodness, are we really talking child labor laws? Well, not to worry. I should be 18 by now, if only in spirit.

[Well.... she doesn't want to have some older resident get all mad at her, and Nora is sixteen - so there is that.]

Well, that's good. I just can't actually tell with some of the residents here. I mean, you could've been five hundred for all I know.

[a smaller laugh to himself.] Trust me, if you needed to know that I was secretly a centuries old vampire or something, I'd tell you.

Well, being candid in this place is sometimes a rare trait. I'm sure some people aren't exactly fond of that sort of honesty, but I actually prefer it.

Lies'll always get you in the end. It just... it never pays. All the protecting you think you're doing just hurts more.

Would it be too much to assume that you've got some experience with that?
