Neledh

[She has spent much of her time here speaking with others, receiving and giving counsel in turn, and she is glad of it, for she has learned much through these conversations. However, one must also take time for oneself to think over such things. And so it is that Galadriel finds herself in gardens once again this evening, this time with a harp.

Her hands drift over the strings, plucking out a simple tune, almost without thought. Her eyes drift to the sky, even as her mind drifts to a question recently posed to her-why is the night dark despite the stars? But true to the (non-)answer she had given, it is not fear of the darkness that finds its way into her heart, but rather a deep reverence for what light there is, even here, even in the midst of the shadow that she faces at home. She begins to sing, here beneath this strange sky, a song in praise of Varda, Queen of the Stars- a hymn to Elbereth. Not exactly like the ones sung in Rivendell, but similar- of the same spirit, a variation on the theme.

It is only when she has ended the song that she notices the open journal lying beside her. She had left it in the castle, but this sort of thing had to be expected here. With a sigh, she addresses it.]

I apologize if I have disturbed any here. It was not my intention to share this particular performance.

[There’s a long pause while she looks at the stars again. And, well, while she had everyone's attention she might as well pose a question of her own.]

It has been a month since my arrival and, at times, I still find myself searching for the light of Eärendil, though I know by now that there is another star in its place. It is strange to lack that which has been so constant for so long. What do you look to in the night sky, here or in your own world? What star speaks to you?

[ooc: Bother her anyway you'd like: in person, over the journal, excessive telepathy, whatever.]
