As some of you probably know, the cat Goldfleck recently arrived at the castle. He was associated with Flora and the Mineas Well, the destination of our last expedition, rendered in an effort to find out what was behind the apparently random abduction of castle residents to the dead zone.
Upon arrival at the Well, Flora and Goldfleck welcomed us. However, shortly after arriving there we were besieged by outsiders, equipped with metal suits and technology beyond our ability to make function in the dead zone. It might have caused a great deal of trouble if Flora hadn't had an escape route ready for us, which returned us to the castle.
Goldfleck's arrival means that the Mineas Well is free from siege and a safe destination for travelers from the castle once more. He also brought a parcel, apparently a Christmas present for the castle residents from Flora (we're also apparently supposed to wait to open it).
I believe he's still around at the castle? At the moment, I'm unsure. I hope anyone who meets him will be kind.

In other news, for those of you who might be interested but just didn't know: there's a teleport circle for use in getting to the lakeside outpost. It's located in the basement, next to Peace Patrol headquarters, and it works both ways. No one has to make the trip out there the long way unless they really want to. They do require activation keywords. Available upon request.
With all this snow, I'd expect that the outpost will be a little inconvenient right now. I'm going to head out shortly and brush off the windows, clear some paths, whatever. For those of you interested, there's two buildings out there, one on the powered side and one on the dead zone side, both with limited living quarters. My name is Asano Rin, and I live on the dead zone side.
Also, I've been thinking about how there used to be no weather here, really. And wondering what that entails, if there was no weather in the world outside either. Maybe this world is growing, or maybe the castle controls more than we've thought. It was suggested to me that no one here was actually native to this world, which I guess suggests that they were just abducted a long time ago, and then seeded out and adapted.
Questions, questions. Did the expedition really even cement what was responsible for the abductions?

[a short sigh.] I'm headed out to the dead zone again tonight, I think.
... I suppose I'll be around around Christmas. After that, I think I'll make a trip to the well and see if Zexion is still around.

[much softer.] Hello. I realize that neither of you might have the chance to respond to this entry for a while, but I thought I'd just say, I'd like to visit the Well again, after Christmas. If there's anything either of you would like me to bring for you, please say now.
