[the journal picks up sounds of desperately fitful sleep, tossing and turning punctuated by the mumbled sounds someone makes when they're trying to yell in their sleep. This goes on for a little bit, until he suddenly breaks into consciousness]
N-no-- NO!!
[the crash of a glass of water on his nightstand being chucked at something that isn't there, before he even realizes he's awake]
...
[rough breathing as he sits up and rubs his eyes, trying to calm down. Notices that the journal is open after he turns on the light]
[filtered to GLaDOS]
[still shaken] ...It works.
[give him a minute or two, as he plays back the recording]
It all works.
