[don't worry, he's not going anywhere. He'll just chill at the bar for a bit and watch the band, slowly un-sulking a little]

[The band has a lot of energy, and the drummer gives the otherwise traditional music one hell of a beat. It's the kind of music that's hard not to move to, even if it's completely unfamiliar. Jilly, of course, is right in the thick of the dancing. She's not particularly wild, but even so, her enthusiasm is hard to miss and it seems to encourage everyone else around her to dance harder as well.

Lucky for him, she's caught up enough in the band that it's a couple of songs later before she disentangles herself from the crowd, sliding back to stand near him looking tired, tousled, and very pleased]

Oi... I need a drink. motioning to the bartender even as she picks up her beer] Can I get a water, please?

[Billy had finished his beer and was working on his own glass of water, looking much more comfortable sitting there, by now. Still in his own little corner of the world, shoulders hunched and leaning his elbows on the bar, but at least he didn't look as terribly uncomfortable as he did before.]

Quite the flatterer, you are. [brushing her hair out of her eyes. When the bartender reappears with a water, she'll gratefully down about half the glass as she takes a seat on the stool next to Billy]

You know... I'm not really sure when I started liking this kind of music... but I really do.

[laughs] Or something. It's a mix of Irish folk music and rock.

[head tilt as she watches the stage] I guess I like the way they mix traditional instruments in with the modern ones.

...especially the fiddle.

[After finishing her beer, Jilly had switched to water as well. Other than the kids, they're probably two of the only people in the castle who would go to an Irish pub and not get drunk.]

[smiles into her drink as she casts a sideways glance in his direction] Mmhmm...

[after a few minutes, his water is finished and he's watching the band, foot moving with the music. Had to admit, at least silently, that getting out made him feel a little better. His wounds from his beating were just bruises now, and he was almost feeling something related to normal]

I wish we had something like this at the castle. I know there are a few performers... but no live bands. At least, not that I've heard of.
